News
We want to thank everyone who came out to The Trails End on October 15th to support The Robbie Laws Band's first Journey to Memphis fundraising benefit show. What a fantastic night! We are truly moved by the generous outpouring of donations and support that our friends, fans and new faces shared with us. Adding to the overall success of the night were some terrific items donated for our silent auction with some great bids offered up for the cause. Big thanks go out to Fred Morgan, Dan Dalton, Chris Alexander, Cindy Benda and The Trails End, Greg Johnson and the Cascade Blues Association.
We are preparing to do it all again in November. First up, we'll be at The Grapevine, a new SW Portland venue on Saturday, November 19th. The following week, the band will be holding our third J2M benefit show at Duff's Garage on Saturday, November 26th. We'll have a lot of great surprises in store along with more fantastic items offered up at the silent auction, so don't miss your opportunity to place your bids.
Your support is hugely appreciated and greatly needed to help The Robbie Laws Band get to Memphis to represent our region and to compete in the International Blues Challenge next February 2012. Looking forward to seeing you in November!
As most of you know, the Robbie Laws Band is going to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in late January 2012 to represent Portland, the CBA, and our entire blues community. We are holding our first Journey to Memphis Benefit Concert on October 15th at The Trails End Saloon in beautiful downtown Oregon City and are reaching out to all of the CBA members, as well as the community for your support in this event to help us get to Memphis. The band has been working hard in the recording studio and we want you to come out and get a preview on how we intend to represent the Pacific Northwest. This is a CBA sponsored event, so all of you CBA members will receive a discount at the door by showing your membership card. We will be holding a silent auction at this event with all kinds of cool stuff for you to bid on. We are still accepting donations for auction items so if you have something you'd like to include in the auction, please let us know. There will also be door prizes for giveaways as well as donation boxes at the club, and definitely a surprise or two! We need you there so please come on out and help us make this a great success. Looking forward to seeing you on October 15th!
This is going to be an exciting show! On Wednesday, September 21st, I'll be performing with Marc Breitfelder & Georg Schroeter from Germany, the 2011 solo/due winners of the International Blues Challenge. They are on their last leg of their first American tour at Cozmic Pizza in Eugene. Show starts up at 7pm.
What is PG3??
On Sunday, August 7th, at the Mission Theater in Portland, Buko Magazine's 2nd Annual PG3 line-up is a full benefit for Oregon Music Hall of Fame to help dwindling music education programs in Oregon schools.
Each year Buko Magazine selects from the absolute best of N.W. guitar players in 3 different genres to play a cream-of-the-crop set of their own material, then duel it out on an all-star jam.
One blues master, one rocker and one special guest star we like to call, the "Wild Card".
This year:
Geoff Metts, Robbie Laws & Eddie Martinez are getting ready to rock your soul, soothe your blues and shred you into oblivion!
Backed by a stellar hand-picked backup PG3 band....
The mighty Kevin Rankin on drums!
Bassman extraordinaire, Jay Haser
and the "Fill-Meister" himself, guitarist, A.G. Donnaloia
This is going to be one show you do not want to miss!
